H\u00e5kan has previously held the position as acting president and CEO of NCC AB as well as general counsel in NCC AB for many years. He has held a large number of board assignments and other positions of trust for NCC-affiliated companies, joint ventures and organizations in Sweden as well as many other countries. H\u00e5kan has also been the general counsel at Trafikverket (Swedish National Transport Authority) and advisor to major international construction groups.
